On February 6th, KBR attorney Lauren M. Lundquist presented a CLE titled, “Reptilian Tactics in First-Party Insurance Litigation: Lessons for Insurers” along with Dr. Ken Broda-Bahm, Ph.D of Persuasion Strategies and Robert T. Horst of Horst Krekstein & Runyon.
The course went over trial strategies and best practices insurers can apply to neutralize an insured’s use of “reptile” theory and tactics in first-party insurance litigation. They also addressed what to do if the court overrules insurer challenges to reptile tactics and how to preserve the issues for appeal.

Congratulations to KBR partner David Bloom on an appellate win in a legal malpractice action in the Second Department!
David skillfully convinced the appellate court to reverse the lower court’s denial of summary judgment, with costs. The appellate court granted the motion, dismissed the plaintiff’s entire complaint, and awarded our clients’ judgment as a matter of law on a counterclaim for unpaid legal fees. Great job, David!
