Congratulations to KBR partner David Bloom on an appellate win in a legal malpractice action in the Second Department!
David skillfully convinced the appellate court to reverse the lower court’s denial of summary judgment, with costs. The appellate court granted the motion, dismissed the plaintiff’s entire complaint, and awarded our clients’ judgment as a matter of law on a counterclaim for unpaid legal fees. Great job, David!

The case centered around allegations that the defendant, a spine surgeon, was negligent during decompression spine surgery and a subsequent repair surgery, resulting in permanent numbness and a negative impact on intimate relations. Exceptional work Andy and Betsy!
KBR partner Jacqueline Mandell recently secured a unanimous First Department decision reversing an order that initially denied our motion for summary judgment.
