Effective June 1, 2025, New Jersey’s new wage transparency law will require employers doing business in the state—or employing workers there—to disclose the hourly wage or salary for any advertised position.

In addition, when employers advertise for a position that could be considered a promotion, they must make “reasonable efforts” to notify all employees about the opportunity before making a promotion decision.
