Plaintiff alleged that while attempting to leave the emergency room of our client’s hospital prior to discharge, he was assaulted by the co-defendant security company’s officers.

The Court held that the security company and their employees were independent contractors and our client was not responsible for their acts. Significantly, the Court also granted summary judgment as to our cross-claims against the security company finding that an inquest will be held as to the reasonable attorneys’ fees that the co-defendant must reimburse our client in this matter.
