The case involved claims that our client, an ophthalmologic surgeon, negligently failed to prevent and timely diagnose endophthalmitis following our client’s performance of cataract extraction and glaucoma surgery.

The court granted summary judgment in favor of our client, finding that our client had adhered to appropriate protocols, counseled the plaintiff regarding the risk of infection, and promptly referred the plaintiff to a retinal surgeon for emergency treatment at the first signs of possible infection.
