<p>Shani Walker is an associate in the Employment and Labor group, concentrating on employment litigation and workplace compliance matters. She represents employers in a broad range of employment-related disputes and advisory matters, including claims involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wage and hour, and wrongful termination.</p>



<p>Shani has experience across all phases of litigation, from early case assessment and strategy development through discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. Her practice includes representing clients in both state and federal courts, as well as before administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the New York State Division of Human Rights, and the New York City Commission on Human Rights.</p>

<p>Matt is a partner in our Insurance Coverage and Coverage Litigation Group. He represents liability insurers in complex coverage litigation before federal and state courts nationwide. Matt also serves as coverage and monitoring counsel for primary and excess insurers in a wide range of matters, including in connection with claims and exposures under professional liability, directors and officers liability, employment practices liability, and fiduciary liability insurance policies. He has extensive experience counseling insurers on coverage issues and all aspects of underlying claims, including shareholder litigation, investigations by governmental agencies, claims involving professional services, litigation against financial institutions and pharmaceutical companies, and other types of complex commercial lawsuits. In addition, Matt represents insurers in negotiations to resolve coverage disputes and underlying claims through alternative dispute resolution proceedings across the country.&nbsp;</p>



<p>While in law school, Matt served as a judicial intern for District Judge Sandra J. Feuerstein and Magistrate Judge A. Kathleen Tomlinson of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. In addition, his note, titled “Uncertainty at the Outer Boundaries of the First Amendment: Extending the Arm of School Authority Beyond the Schoolhouse Gate Into Cyberspace”, was published in the Summer 2010 edition of the <em>St. John’s Journal of Legal Commentary</em>.</p>

<p>Christine is a partner with a primary focus on the defense of Medical Malpractice cases involving physicians, hospitals and nursing homes. She also represents commercial building owners, contractors, and homeowners in Premises and General Liability matters involving serious injuries. Throughout her 30 years as an attorney, she has successfully tried dozens of high-exposure cases involving a wide array of claims. Christine has a specific focus on representing specialized surgeons and hospitals, obtaining many verdicts in their favor. She has also obtained favorable results for many clients through aggressive motion practice and alternative dispute resolution.</p>



<p>Christine also has considerable experience advising institutional clients in various areas of risk management and mitigation. As a result of her common-sense approach to litigation and trial advocacy, she has been an invited lecturer at area hospitals and private practices. She has also advised physicians in private practice on a wide array of topics including, hospital privileges, insurance matters, affiliation agreements, and disciplinary proceedings.&nbsp;Christine has represented defendants in both local and multi-district class action litigation involving silicone gel breast implants and asbestos products.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Christine was Managing Editor of The Fordham Urban Law Journal Volume 22 during her third year of law School and received the Archibald R. Murray Award for Public Service.</p>
