Betty is a partner whose practice focuses on the defense of hospitals and physicians in medical malpractice litigation, in all medical specialty fields. She has experience representing major metropolitan area medical centers, physicians, nurses, podiatrists, physician assistants and various other health care professionals. In addition, she has defended licensed medical professionals in disciplinary actions in New York. She has a significant background in risk management and quality assurance and has lectured on a variety of medical-legal issues associated with physician and hospital liability.
Before beginning her career as a medical malpractice defense attorney, Betty worked as an appellate lawyer for the Criminal Appeals Bureau of the Legal Aid Society, during which she successfully argued cases before the New York State intermediate appellate courts and the New York State Court of Appeals.
Betty was selected as one of the Outstanding Women in Law by The Center for Children, Families and the Law at Hofstra University School of Law. Betty has also been named one of the top rated Medical Malpractice attorneys in NYC-Metro by Super Lawyers magazine for 2013-2023. Each year, no more than 5% of the lawyers in the state are selected by Super Lawyers to receive this honor.
