Previously, employers faced steep penalties, including 100% liquidated damages, for late payments to manual workers, even if wages were ultimately paid. The new amendment narrows that exposure, addressing concerns over disproportionate liability for technical violations. Notably, this change applies to all cases pending or filed on or after May 9, 2025.
