Alia is an associate in KBR’s General Liability group. She represents a broad range of clients in all aspects of general liability defense, including building owners, business owners, sporting facility operators, contractors and construction companies, management companies, and security companies.
Prior to joining KBR, Alia worked as an Assistant District Attorney in the Special Victims Division of The Bronx District Attorney’s Office, prosecuting crimes within their Domestic Violence Bureau. There, she successfully argued Crawford hearings, prepped civilian and law enforcement witnesses for trial, negotiated with defense counsel, handled discovery conferences, and managed motion practice.
During law school, Alia served as a legal intern in the Special Victims Division in the Westchester County District Attorney’s office for two consecutive summers. In addition to her prosecutorial experience, Alia was also a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge David S. Zuckerman. Furthermore, Alia was an intern in the United States Secret Service.
At New York Law School, Alia was a trustee scholar and graduated with a certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution emphasizing skills in negotiation, mediation, and arbitration.
