Ruth is a partner whose practice focuses on the defense of hospitals, physicians, nurses and other healthcare entities in Medical Malpractice litigation.
Prior to joining KBR, Ruth worked as a Legal Compliance Specialist for a Manhattan-based ambulatory surgery center management firm where she gained exposure to issues pertaining to risk management, malpractice insurance and litigation, stark law, HIPAA, and other regulatory considerations for New York based outpatient facilities.
Ruth has lectured extensively on various topics including, medical documentation and testifying, the defense of radiology malpractice cases, and informed consent issues in the ambulatory surgery setting. Ruth has also appeared as a featured speaker on The ASC Podcast with John Goehle.
Ruth is an Irish citizen and received her primary law degree from University College Cork in Ireland, graduating with honors in 2013. Ruth received her LLM from Brooklyn Law School in 2014, where her studies focused on areas related to health care law and bioethics.
Ruth has been recognized by the Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch 2023-2024 editions for Medical Malpractice Law, Hudson Valley Top Lawyers 2022 Edition for Medical Malpractice Defense, and has also has been named one of the top rated Medical Malpractice attorneys by Super Lawyers magazine. She has been selected to the New York Metropolitan Rising Stars list for the year 2022-2023. Each year, no more than 2.5% of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor. Ruth was featured in the Irish Legal Top 100 in 2021.
