Douglas is a litigation Partner and veteran trial attorney. Over the past 22 years, Douglas has tried nearly 100 cases to verdict. His practice presently focuses on the counseling and defense of physicians, hospitals, chiropractors, dentists and other health care professionals in malpractice litigation and trials. 

Douglas previously served for 12 years in the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office. While assigned to the Superior Court Trial Division, he served as Deputy Chief of the Homicide Bureau under District Attorney Jeanine Pirro. Douglas had previously served as Deputy Chief of the Career Criminal Bureau under District Attorney Carl Vergari. During his tenure, he successfully prosecuted many noteworthy homicides and other serious felony offenses. 

While attending Brooklyn Law School Douglas clerked for the Honorable Thomas C. Platt of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, and interned with the Office of the United States Attorney, Criminal Division, under the Honorable Raymond J. Dearie. 

Douglas has been an invited speaker on various topics at seminars sponsored by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the New York State Inspector General’s Office, and the Yonkers Police Department. He has also lectured to physicians and hospital staff on medical-legal matters.  Douglas was named by New York Super Lawyers magazine as one of the top attorneys in medical malpractice defense in the greater Metropolitan New York area for the year 2009.  Only five percent of the lawyers in the state are named by Super Lawyers. 

Douglas previously served for 10 years as Town Prosecutor for Town of Yorktown.
