General Liability

Our firm has extensive experience in handling all types of general liability cases from inception through trial. The types of cases for which we have specialized knowledge include all premises liability cases in which landlords and managing agents are sued, such as exploding stove cases, negligent security cases, falls on transitory conditions, like snow and ice, as well as structural defects, and property damage cases.

We defend alleged false arrests and imprisonments, both against security companies and/or owners of commercial establishments as well as other security guard or service cases.

We also have successfully litigated numerous other specialty cases, such as trucking and auto cases, foster care agency cases, construction litigations against owners, general contractors, construction managers and subcontractors, alarm installer and monitoring cases, suits against investigators, sporting injury cases, gymnasium cases and cases involving injuries at camps and places of amusement.

Our firm also defends suits against nursing homes and hospitals for liability issues which frequently arise. We have also represented numerous product manufacturers in alleged design and manufacturing defects as well as failure to warn cases.

While our clients frequently are insured, we deal with a fair number of self-insured entities. We also monitor cases for excess insurers with exposure in excess of the primary policies, to help insure that adverse verdicts are not taken. We also act as monitoring counsel to supervise local counsel, defending our clients’ interests in venues where we do not have offices.
