Leonard B. Cooper, born in Bronx, New York, is an Associate
specializing in complex, multi-party commercial litigation, with
an emphasis on insurance coverage litigation. Mr. Cooper has
extensive experience representing insurers in a wide variety of
areas, including directors and officers liability, errors and
omissions liability, individual and group disability, group
life, environmental, discrimination, broker, reinsurance, and
excess lines insurance coverage litigation.
Prior to
entering private practice, Mr. Cooper served as an in-house
litigation attorney for a major insurance carrier.
Mr. Cooper
is a graduate of Cornell University and a cum laude graduate of
the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Law where
he was an Editor of the Buffalo Law Review and a Member of the
Jessup International Law Moot Court Board, for which he won a
Best Brief award.
Mr. Cooper
has also authored numerous articles for the Newsletter of the
Excess, Surplus Lines & Reinsurance Committee of the Torts &
Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association and
was coauthor of the articles "Occurrences Within Coverage" for
NYSBA, Commercial Lines: Coverage for the Construction Defect
Claim (2006) and “Insurer Insolvency in the 90’s” for the Fourth
Annual Institute, Contemporary Reinsurance and Excess Insurance
Issues (1993). |
