Robert A. Benjamin, born in Boston,
Massachusetts, is an associate attorney concentrating in
insurance coverage matters, particularly in the area of
directors and officers liability. Mr. Benjamin represents
insurers in complex coverage matters involving class action and
derivative securities lawsuits. Mr. Benjamin has represented
insurers in several coverage litigations in State, Federal
District, and Bankruptcy Courts.
Prior to joining Kaufman Borgeest & Ryan LLP, Mr. Benjamin
represented insurers in complex insurance and reinsurance
coverage matters, specializing in those matters occurring in a
bankruptcy context.
Mr. Benjamin is a graduate of Skidmore College and St. John's
University School of Law where he was an Executive Editor of the
American Bankruptcy Institute Law Review.
Mr. Benjamin has published articles on the topics of fiduciary
responsibilities of creditor committee members as well as the
proper procedures for the acquisition of security broker groups.
Mr. Benjamin has also served as a Subject Matter Expert for the
Directors and Officers Liability Insurance: Introduction and
Public/Financial D&O Liability Insurance: In Focus modules
of the PLUS RPLU Designation Curriculum. Mr. Benjamin has also
spoken at the ABA Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee
Seminar on the topic of the advancement of defense costs
during pending coverage litigation.
He is admitted to practice in the State of New York and the
State of New Jersey, as well as before the Eastern and Southern
District Courts of New York, and the District of New Jersey. Mr.
Benjamin is also admitted to practice before the United States
Supreme Court. |
