Steven D.
Weiner has specialized in the defense of matters involving
toxic torts, pharmaceuticals, products liability, medical and
nursing home malpractice. Mr. Weiner has represented product
manufactures and premises owners in asbestos litigation for the
past 20 years. Mr. Weiner serves as national supervisory and
coordinating counsel for major asbestos manufacturers and in
that capacity, has overseen thousands of cases filed in various
State and Federal courts throughout the country, as well as
Multi-District Litigation matters. He has given various lectures
in respect to his expertise in the asbestos litigation and
specific defense of his clients.
Mr. Weiner
has utilized his pharmaceutical and science background to offer
particular expertise to clients in the areas of toxic substances
and mass tort litigation. Mr. Weiner has also lectured to
representatives of the insurance industry and defense counsel on
a variety of topics, including mold, latex and lead paint. In
the area of pharmaceuticals, Mr. Weiner’s experience ranges from
the defense of actions pertaining to the clinical trial phase to
post-marked drugs and medical devices. Mr. Weiner has also
lectured on such issues and has provided risk management advice
to companies engaged in drug clinical trials.
Mr. Weiner
also focuses extensively on the defense of Nursing Homes, both
nationally and locally. In this capacity, Mr. Weiner has served
as both supervisory/monitoring counsel and as trial counsel. In
addition, Mr. Weiner has lectured considerably to the insurance
industry, as well as provided numerous in-service lectures to
Nursing Homes in matters pertaining to the defense of Nursing
Homes.
Mr. Weiner,
who is a licensed pharmacist, also devotes a substantial portion
of his time to the defense of physicians and hospitals and
related entities, through trial.
His focus
throughout his career has included the defense of product
manufacturers, attorney, psychiatric and dental malpractice
actions, as well as other tort matters and related coverage
disputes.
In light of
Mr. Weiner’s national experience and reputation, he has been
invited to join the prestigious International Association Of
Defense Counsel.
